MORAWA FARM IMPROVEMENT GROUP

Aim

The Morawa Farm Improvement Group was formed in 2003, out of the old Morawa Pasture Improvement Group, which was founded in 1946. The need to develop the group came about as a decline in numbers of Department of Agriculture staff meant that less relevant research was being done and the group felt a need to do the research itself.

The group’s mission is "To Advance the development and learning needs of the Morawa Farming Community in order for them to remain both viable and sustainable into the future.
To achieve this, the group have set up a number of trials and demonstrations; undertaken large scale projects and organized a number of workshops.

The group has 3 sub committees - Trials, Projects and Funding – which operate as needed depending on funding or running projects.
The group is a member of NEFF and so can benefit from the advantages a large group can have.
